Recreation
- To maintain, develop and promote the public rights of way network
- To develop, promote and maintain recreational routes for walkers, cyclists and horseriders
- To develop, promote and maintain countryside access and recreation opportunities for disabled people
- To develop and support the provision of formal countryside recreation facilities

Conservation
- To maintain and enhance existing habitat, landscape and heritage interest
- To create and maintain new wildlife habitat and landscape interest
- To enhance degraded natural environments in both urban and rural locations

Education
- To produce leaflets, information boards and other promotional material
- To use and support arts based activities as a means of interpreting wildlife, landscape and heritage interest
- To develop and promote environmental education opportunities and facilities
- To provide opportunities for all to participate in environmental management work
- To support the development of socio-economic programmes which contribute towards furthering the Projects aims.
